The 40th Annual International Arctic Workshop will be held March 10-12, 2010 at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge in Winter Park Colorado. The meeting is open to all interested in the Arctic, and will consist of a series of talks and poster sessions covering all aspects of high-latitude environments, past and present. Previous Arctic Workshops have included presentations on Arctic and Antarctic climate, archeology, environmental geochemistry, geomorphology, hydrology, glaciology, soils, ecology, oceanography, Quaternary history and more.
Student participation is subsidized by the U.S. National Science Foundation.
The 40th Arctic Workshop will include a keynote presentation by Dr. Randy Olson, filmmaker and author of the 2009 book "Don't be Such a Scientist: Talking Substance in an Age of Style."
