GLACIOLOGICAL SYMPOSIUM

Call for Papers

International Glaciological Symposium will be held in the Kazan' city of Russia from May 31 through June 4, 2010.

The main topic of the Symposium is «Ice and Snow in the Climatic System».

Symposium organizers are
The Glaciological Association, Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Kazan' State University.

Scientific Program
The Symposium will cover a wide range of glaciological problems based on results obtained from recent researches of processes in cryosphere and climatic system. Each oral presentation will be allowed 20 minutes, including discussion. The program includes poster presentations and discussion.

Abstracts, up to 250 words length, should be submitted using online form on the Symposium website glas-conf.igras.ru

Abstract submission deadline - February 1, 2010.

Selected presentations will be published as individual papers in the new peer-reviewed journal «Ice and Snow» which is published as 4 issues each year. Texts should be sent for publication before April 1, 2010 via e-mail to the Glaciological Association (khronika@mail.ru).

Acceptable manuscripts should be between 8 and 15 pages in length (Times New Roman font, 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing) including photos, figures and tables (minimum 300 dpi resolution as tif or gif electronic files).

According to the Program participants should plan to arrive on Sunday, May 30; starting May 31, the program will consist of 4 days of scientific sessions, including excursions around the University, the city, and the Volga River. One evening, a reception will be organized, and its cost will be announced later.
